The term Balanced Literacy indicates that writers need a variety of different opportunities to learn. In a Writing Workshop, children have time to write and the teacher not only instills the love of writing into the participants, but also provides explicit instruction in the skills and strategies of proficient writing through the writing process. In this course, teachers will experience Writer’s Workshop and learn how to implement the strategy in their classrooms. |
