This bootcamp is designed to be practical for classroom teachers and coaches.  Assessment is much more that a test – it’s process that can be both formal and informal.  Good assessments inform teaching and learning, they don’t drive it.    While so much focus is placed on state and national assessments, the most important assessments – for both the teacher and the student –  take place in the classroom.  How do we make sure our classroom assessment protocols and tools are of high quality?  How do we probe for deep understanding and the student’s ability to apply learning in novel contexts?  Learn practical, useful tidbits about the anatomy of a good question, a good test – what to do and what not to do.  Leave with immediate skills to apply to your next lesson.
