STEM Practices is Course 3 of a two-course program plus STEM Immersion Experience leading to a Pioneer RESA STEM Education Endorsement. STEM Practices is a 50-hour (5 PLU) course composed of a variety of modules and activities. It targets methods and materials for classroom implementation of STEM by candidates in their individual grade levels – elementary, middle, and high schools.. STEM Practices is designed to engage candidates in the study of STEM instructional curriculum development and evaluation. The course will result in implementation-ready STEM lesson plans and performance rubrics that are project-based, problem-based, and place-based. This course will provide a strong emphasis on the development and implementation of the inquiry process for STEM lesson development incorporating habits of mind and mathematical practices.
