Course Description More Details
Writers’ Workshop: Participants will develop an understanding of how to create a writers’ workshop where students learn what it means to be a writer—how writers think, plan, compose, revise, and share their work. We will explore a broad concept of writers’ workshop that includes independent writing, guided writing, and investigations. Topics presented include: creating an environment to support good writing, the writing process, minilessons, teacher/student conferences, group share, evaluation, and creating a “map” for writing across the year.
