The biggest barrier we have encountered to the implementation of a universal social-emotional learning (SEL) curriculum is an understanding of the support needs of faculty in finding placement in the academic schedule to deliver the curriculum. Thus, it is effective for school administrators and stakeholders to attend a 3-hour training that focuses both on rationale for the DBT in Schools implementation of the DBT STEPS-A SEL curriculum, curriculum requirements, and problem-solving implementation barriers. Administrators and stakeholders are a
significant key to successful implementation.
