1 PLU IS OPTIONAL FOR A $50 FEE. MUST ATTEND BOTH SESSIONS The Mathematics Design Collaborative (MDC) is a group of classroom teachers, teacher leaders, system content specialists, and state department personnel who are working together to enact formative assessment lessons (FAL) within the mathematics classroom. These formative assessment lessons are aligned to CCSS/CCGPS and make use of strategies designed to engage students while uncovering misconceptions and gaps in understanding. As teachers and students make use of the lessons, students begin to shift their thinking toward problem solving leading to a deeper understanding of the mathematics as they become more fluent in the language of mathematics.
