Course Description More Details
This cohort is intended for special education teachers or general education teachers who have at least 5 students with reading goals on their IEPs. Participants will complete a book study focused on the 5 pillars of reading: phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension. In addition, participants will learn how to give reading assessments that will help pinpoint areas of weakness.
The books used in this cohort will be the
Teaching Reading Sourcebook Third Edition and
Assessing Reading Multiple Measures Second Edition.
Participants will need to bring a copy of each of these books to each training session. The books can be purchased from Amazon.com or Corelearn.com.
