Course Description More Details
In this session, participants will focus on applying the revised Foundations domain of the Georgia K-12 ELA Standards to their own curriculum, assessments, and literacy instruction schedules. Emphasis will be placed on understanding how the changes in foundational literacy skills, including phonemic awareness, phonics, and fluency, impact student learning. Participants will explore best practices for designing effective ELA block structures and developing lesson plans that support continuous literacy development. Educators will leave with strategies to enhance foundational skills instruction and align it to new standards, while working on curriculum mapping for long-term instructional planning.
