Face to Face

Developing Effective Instructional Materials for Students with ASD who are Pursuing Alternate Achievement Standards and Have Traditionally Participated in the GAA.

North GLRS/Dr. Toni Bowen

To support students with significant Autism in learning academic content, materials often need to be adjusted to meet their cognitive and sensory needs. In this session, four considerations for making instructional materials more accessible for students will be explored including real-life examples from early elementary to high school. A make and take activity will give participants the opportunity to develop items which can be used to support student learning in the classroom.
