*Participants should be new special education teachers.
This program is part of the Teacher/Provider Retention Program (TPRP) from the Georgia Department of Education. The course provides professional learning and coaching as well as opportunities to practice new skills in a mixed-reality simulation classroom. Topics include establishing a learning environment, explicit instruction, IEP content, leading an IEP meeting, teaching social behavior, providing feedback, and student engagement. There will be four in person meetings (9am-3pm) as well as eight Mixed-Reality Simulation Classroom Labs (1pm-3pm virtual). Please register through the PRESA Course Catalog for all 4 in person sessions. Information will be provided directly to registered participants regarding the MRS Labs.
