FACE to FACE
This two part course is designed to equip special education paraprofessionals with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to effectively support students with disabilities in a variety of instructional settings. Emphasis will be placed on how paraprofessionals can collaborate with teachers and specialists to implement strategies that meet the unique learning needs of students with disabilities. Participants will gain a basic understanding of special education law, IEPs, accommodations and modifications. Other topics include ethics, the roles and responsibilities of paraprofessionals within the school team, instructional strategies, specially designed instruction, and the role of assistive technology in supporting students’ access to the general education curriculum.
