Course Description More Details
All GAPSC certified educators are eligible to complete the School Safety and Anti-Gang Endorsement. The School Safety and Anti-Gang Endorsement was established by the Safe Schools Act (HB 147) for school personnel to help keep schools safe and prevent gang activity and recruitment in classrooms.
The Safe Schools Act (HB 147) focuses on keeping Georgia’s students, teachers, and school personnel safe. The legislation modernizes school safety protocols by equipping school personnel with skills to protect students.
The School Safety and Anti-Gang Endorsement gives certificate holders strengthened and enhanced competency levels in multidisciplinary best practices for promoting and preserving safe schools and for identifying and deterring youth gangs. All school personnel are encouraged to take the training courses, however, only Georgia certified personnel may earn their endorsement.
The School Safety and Anti-Gang Endorsement requires participants to complete 20 courses, 16 are online and 4 are in person.
Join us to complete four (4) of the in-person courses with GEMA on Monday, August 25, 2025, at Mountain Education Regional Support Center from 9:00 am - 3:30 p.m. Courses include 1) Civilian Response to Active Shooter Events (CRASE), 2) Stop the Bleed (STB), 3) Visual Weapons Screening and 4) Gang Awareness for Educators.
