This session will provide instructional procedures on the Do’s and Don’ts of how to write effective standards based IEPs. Topics to be covered: • What is a standards-based IEP? • Role of each IEP team member in developing a standards-based IEP • Steps in developing a standards-based IEP • Discuss what does a standards-based IEP look like • Identify the target skills for students to be successful with the GPS • Discuss why prerequisite skills for targeted skills are important when writing IEPs • Understand how to use data • Understand what is special about special education in developing a standards-based IEP
