This session will help participants apply the updated Language domain of the Georgia K-12 ELA Standards to their existing curriculum, assessments, and literacy schedules. Participants will focus on understanding the changes in grammar, vocabulary acquisition, and language conventions and how these impact student proficiency. Teachers will learn how to incorporate the revised standards into their lesson plans, effectively embed language instruction throughout the ELA block, and use GaDOE tools like Inspire for language development. The session will also guide participants through the process of creating curriculum maps that reflect the new standards, ensuring alignment and coherence across grade levels.
