Course Description More Details
FACE to FACE
This first session of the Autism Series offers a foundational overview of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and prepares educators and support staff to design inclusive, structured, and communication-rich learning environments. Participants will explore the core characteristics of students with ASD, how these characteristics influence learning and behavior, and what environmental and instructional strategies best support them.
The training includes real-life insights from special education teachers and parents of individuals with Autism, who will share effective strategies, challenges, and powerful stories that highlight the importance of individualized, compassionate support. Special emphasis will be placed on creating visual supports, using assistive technology, and implementing high-leverage practices and specially designed instruction (SDI).
